CONSTITUTION OF THE COMBINED DOG TRAINING CLUBS OF
1. NAME
The name of the body is The Combined Dog Training Clubs of Galway
2. MAIN OBJECTIVE
The main objective for which the body is established is to provide training grounds and dog training classes for all members.
3. SUBSIDIARY OBJECTIVES
In furtherance exclusively of the foregoing main object, the body shall have the following subsidiary objectives:
a) To train members to a standard of being able to teach classes themselves within the club.
b) To set up sub-sections for main club areas.
c) To provide an open-door policy to new members.
4. POWERS
To the extent that the same are essential or ancillary to the promotion of the main object of the body as hereto set out, the body may excercise the following powers:
a) Raise funds.
b) Recruit members.
c) Establish a standard of training dogs and dog trainers.
5. RULES
1) Application for membership shall be granted on payment of club & training fees.
2) All animals shall be trained in a humane fashion.
3) A dog handler shall never:
i. Expose a dog recklessly to imminent danger of injury.
ii. Expose a person recklessly to imminent danger of injury.
iii. Expose themselves to imminent danger of injury.
4) AGM shall be held every 12 months.
6. INCOME AND PROPERTY
The income and property of the body shall be applied solely towards the promotion of its main object as set forth in this constitution. No portion of the body's income and property shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividend, bonus or otherwise, howsoever by way of profit, to the members of the body. No officer shall be appointed to any office of the body paid by salary or fees, or recieve any renumeration or other benefit in money or moneys worth from the body. However, nothing shall prevent any payment in good faith by the body of:
a) Reasonable and proper renumeration to any member of the body (not being an officer) for any services rendered to the body.
b) reasonable and proper out-of-pocket expenses incurred by any club member on behalf of the club.
7. WINDING UP
If upon the winding up or dissolution of the body there remains, after the satisfaction of all its debts and liabilities, any property whatsoever, it shall not be paid to or distributed among the members of the body. Instead, such property shall be given or transferred to some other charitable institution or institutions having main objects similar to the main objects of the body. The institution or institutions to which the property is to be given or transferred shall prohibit the distribution of it’s or their income and property among it’s or their members to an extent at least as great as is imposed on the body under or by virtue of clause 6 hereof. A majority of members present at a general meeting shall select the relevant institution or institutions at or before the time of dissolution, and if and so far as effect cannot be given to such provisions, then the property shall be given or transferred to some charitable object.
8. ADDITIONS, ALTERATIONS OR AMMENDMENTS
No addition, alteration or amendment shall be made to this Constitution unless a majority vote rules so at a general meeting.
9. KEEPING OF ACCOUNTS
Annual accounts, adopted by the members at an AGM, shall be made available to the Revenue Commissioners on request.
